“Saturday Night Klein”

NEW YORK, NY — One of the toughest tickets in New York is a seat for the NBC TV show, Saturday Night Live. You can enter a random lottery through e-mail or you can wait in the stand-by line. Some people get there at five am Saturday; others even earlier.

Louis Klein usually comes in from Queens early every Friday afternoon. He’s been doing so since SNL was popular enough to merit such a line. Klein has seen 539 out of 622 shows.

Over the years, he’s become pretty famous in SNL fan circles, and even a little infamous. Reporter Sean Cole spent a night on line with the guy known as “Saturday Night Klein.”
