Changes in Chinatown

BOSTON, Mass. — From the North End to the Financial District, Boston’s downtown hosts a number of different enclaves. Among the most historic is Chinatown.

Walk one block south of Boylston Street, and you’ll find the sights and sounds are more typical of the Far East than the Northeast.

But that vital downtown district has been feeling the squeeze recently, because of development and the changing needs of the Asian American community.

WBUR’s Sarah Bush reports on what that means for Chinatown today.
