State Orders Owner To Fix Dam

The Suffolk Superior Court on Wednesday ordered a private developer to fix a crumbling dam in Taunton.

It was in Taunton three years ago that a different dam, owned by the same developer, almost breached and flooded the downtown area.

That incident focused a spotlight on the safety of thousands of dams in Massachusetts. WBUR's Abigail Beshkin reports.
