I have met Sam Yoon at a public gathering in Dorchester and was very impressed with his thoughtfulness and enthusiasm. Being in a leadership position of a major city is very difficult but I trust that Mr. Yoon has the drive to succeed. He may be disappointed or frustrated here and there but I believe that at the end of the day, he will get major improvements done for the city and our state.

Great story on Sam Yoon. I’ve had the chance to meet him personally and it captures not only his optimistic outgoing personality, his different background from the other candidates, and his credentials as a policy wonk, which is a good thing. We need a new Mayor with a fresh vision who can look at government from the inside out, examine what works and doesn’t work, bring in the best and brightest to the city’s varied departments, and open the doors of government to the people. I have nothing personally against Menino, but after 16 years its simply time to give new leadership a chance.

What about Yoon marching in the St. Patrick’s day parade? Is this endorsement of homophobia (by marching in this homophobic event) something that all the NPR listeners and “folks who voted for Deval Patrick and Barack Obama” are down with?”. And that’s just the beginning…read between the lines folks…

Maybe he can be mayor of Arlington where lived right up until he campaigned for the seat he’s now in…

Sam Yoon is the change we need- Boston needs a city government that’s willing and able to work with President Obama’s vision for change. Without Sam Yoon, Boston’s going to stay stuck in the mud. Our environment needs Yoon’s vision and policy.

I am sure that some of the other councilors roll their eyes when Sam Yoon does the people’s work at City Hall. So many of the councilors are content to do nothing but rubber-stamp the mayor’s agenda. Sam Yoon is different – not another politician and that’s why I am going to vote for him in September and November.

Nice piece. What I really like about Sam is his inclusiveness. I’m sure that’s a product of being a community organizer. And it’s about time to decentralize the power of the mayor’s office. He just has way too much power. I know Sam will do the right things to get this city back on track and lead it into the future.

Councilor Yoon could do more to make public meetings of our Boston City Council more open by updating the stenographic services with more current technology that has features like closed captioning on Council webcasts for people with hearing loss and making readily available the stenographic machine record of public meetings.

Great story. I’m still deciding between Yoon and Flaherty. After this piece, I’m leaning Yoon. Kid is smart and doesn’t have the baggage that the other pols do. Just checked him out at samyoon.com…some good proposals on there.

The Charlestown public library is not open on Saturdays and Sundays right now and barely has enough staff. As a Charlestown resident, I believe we can do better. I listened to Sam Yoon speak and I’m sure he’s the one get us there. He expects more than the other candidates. He expects more out of our schools, out of our kids, and out of the mayor’s office and I have to agree with him.
