After Controversy, It’s Back To Work For Israeli Consul General

Israel’s consul general to New England is back at his job in Boston, two weeks after the leak of a memo he wrote about Israeli-United States relations.

Nadav Tamir had suggested that continuing to build West Bank settlements over the objections of President Obama could damage ties between the two countries.

The consul general was then recalled to Jerusalem, where he met with the head of the foreign ministry. Tamir was reprimanded, officials say, not so much for the memo’s contents but for its wide distribution in the ministry.
