Kennedy Memoir Publisher: Ted Wanted A Full Account Of His Life

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy died on the same day the first copy of his memoir, "True Compass," was delivered to his home in Hyannisport. He had spent the better part of five years working on the book, which was released Monday.

In "True Compass," the senator describes how he found comfort in his family and its traditions. Later in life, he revived those traditions, especially with visits to Massachusetts landmarks such as Paul Revere's House and Walden Pond.

We discussed Kennedy's memoir with its editor, Jonathan Karp. Karp is publisher of Twelve Books, the company that published "True Compass."
