I think everyone is missing the point. The governor is a dupe to the legislature. He gets to do the dirty work no one else will do. The governor gets the blame but the systemic problems are old and not of his making. It doesn't seem to matter which party has the governorship, he is an outsider. Blaming him is like blaming Obama for the financial crisis.

Well well well. What a surprise that Patrick waits until the last possible second decreed by law to spring this on the Commonwealth. I like where Drew's going with his post. The whole Hyatt debacle seems like just a little bump in the road from this vantage, doesn't it? I called in a few weeks ago to comment on Patrick's position on that situation, and I still believe I was right: any measure of responsibility to those who live in MA by our Governor is simply another constituency pandering PR move. What a phony, cheap-seeming politician. He certainly lives up to the stereotype of an opaque, sneaky, local politician.

Maybe the pay raise the legislature got, after Patrick certified the well being of the state economy, should be discontinued. They should not be insulated from the financial pain that rest of the state feels and that they pass on to the cities and towns of the Commonwealth by cutting revenue sharing.

when I voted for Gov. Patrick, I was concerned about his employment in the corporate world. Unfortunately, my concern about the effect of his history has been realized. His brutal slashing of human services reflects an obvious insensitivity to the needs of the most vulnerable and a lack of allegiance to the working people of our state.
