Police Investigate Fatal Shooting Near Dorchester School
Boston Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Dorchester near the John Marshall Elementary School.
The school was placed in safe mode shortly before noon on Tuesday, meaning no one could enter or leave the building, though classes continued as scheduled.
A school official said voting at a polling place inside the Marshall School building continued uninterrupted.
The 23-year-old victim was shot several times and later died at Boston Medical Center. Police are searching for a suspect seen running from the scene.
