I admit, I’m both biased and thumbs down when it comes to “re-makes”. Though re-makes pay tribute to the original, the blog from Wendy Harrington said it best…” want a good remake of the Prisoner? “You wont get it! (laughing) – quoted as well as number six (Patrick McGoohan) said it against the taunting voice of the guest star number 2 in the original Prisoner series. Good one Wendy! (laughing)

Damn. If only the writers and producers had vision and tapped into the enormous Prisoner fanbase and got some insight and constructive critisism as in Snakes On A Plane, then maybe this could have been a really good updated remake, instead of a half-ass, watered-down version of a classic. Shame on you, Hollowwood! But perhaps some of the blame rests on us fans for not volcalizing our insights — should we endeavour make the next installment? I’m in…

I watched the entire first series and will be sorely disappointed if what you say is true of the new one. Please, I know we can’t replace Patrick Mc but..but..please. I was saddened by his death!

It never ceases to amaze me how few original ideas are around anymore. Remakes often are far inferior to the originals and yet their profusion makes this most evident. But then it is much easier to trade off existing concepts than to create new one. Only in rare instances do remakes Equal or surpass the original.I would suggest anyone who has never watch the original do so!

The author got two things wrong: 1) Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ” was FAMOUS not INFAMOUS, and 2) The only ‘clang’ in the original Prisoner series was the barred gates slamming shut at the end–when he returned to London his flat’s door hummed open and closed just as the doors in ‘the village’ did.
