New England’s players firmly stand behind coach Bill Belichick’s costly gamble. But Patriots fans in downtown Boston had mixed opinions Monday.

The Patriots failed on a fourth-and-2 deep in their territory with two minutes to play, giving Peyton Manning a prime opportunity to steal a victory after trailing by 17 points early in the fourth quarter. Manning took advantage, throwing a 1-yard touchdown pass to Reggie Wayne with 13 seconds left to give the Colts a 35-34 win over the Patriots on Sunday night.

What do you think? Did Belichick make the wrong decision?

What’s to discuss? When Belichick takes a huge risk and it pays off everybody is happy. In Bill We Trust. There’s a reason it’s a risk – big rewards or big failure. You can’t support them in the good times and not in the bad too.
    In Bill I Still Trust.

Hey, it was a gamble on Bill. Whether it was the right decision or not, he knew what he was doing. The defense gave up way too many points in the fourth quarter; so Bill really didnt have much of a choice. Second, Tom Brady was just that good. The catch should ve been reviewed. But it is what it is. Bill and Tom have won three superbowls in this decade. So give Bill his respect; he did what he thought was best. Bill would’ve never taken that chance if he knew his defense would hold up.
