Abb, Jason, the study clearly notes that critical care personnel don't know an unstable ER patient's insurance status. Can you read? And don't tell me clinicians are unaware of insurance status after triage and stabilization -- when I went to the ER (for chest pains) after being seen and admitted my insurance information was printed on my wrist band.

Has this researcher ever heard of EMTALA? It is against federal law to even ask for insurance information in an ED prior to triaging and stabilizing the patient.

Irresponsible to imply that clinicians know who has insurance and who does not. We never know this information. Another piece of irresponsible reporting put out there for the uninformed public to fool them into supporting socialized medicine. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

oh like this is a big surprise? Funny how they refer to car crash victims and not the gang related gunshots, overdoses, and fights. Not to worry, all the prisoners get all the care they need at our expense though.
