Pagliuca stands to gain handsomely from being a guaranteed 60th vote for mandatory health insurance. Let's stop pretending health care reform is being sausaged in Washington any more than it was by the rent-a-lawmakers here in the medical industrial commonwealth.

Pags and the rest of the money lusters at Bain bought Hospital Corporation of America and your wealthy Celtics owner hopes to pig out on the new revenue stream provided by 30 million new mandatory health insurance clients; kinda like Partners HealthCare and its partner in avarice BCBS are feasting off Massachusetts' new human revenue streams.

Steve is a 'Supercapitalist', a businessman who utilizes every possible strategem to meet and beat global competition. Lobbying in Washington is a response to the Congress's ability to legislate a competitive advantage either to or from one's business, so that is an item that has to be looked after, (or one will go out of business).
The job of a United States Senator is one of weighing the options available that work best in the local and national interest. Steve is right that Massachusetts's future is in attracting jobs in the future looking economy, and providing the training for these jobs, and for providing a system that allows all of us to have access to healthcare. If he won't take PAC or corporate money, well, that should assist a balanced approach and allow him time to study issues, not waste time raising money. In fact, the US Taxpayer would be well served to pay the full expenses of all legislators in return for the removal of the toxin of campaign cash in our government. Steve can afford this largesse, but I cannot, and so I will never run for office. I know, who cares?
