Local media outlets are maintaining a steady stream of special election coverage Tuesday with the primary now two weeks away.

A Fiery Forum

WBUR’s Monica Brady-Myerov covered Monday’s forum on WGBH’s Greater Boston — from Coakley’s defense of her decision not to prosecute priest John Geoghan to a Pagliuca-Capuano tit-for-tat over health care to the candidates’ positions on the decision to try accused Sept. 11 planners in NYC.

Matt Viser of the Boston Globe focused on a point in the forum when Coakley and Michael Capuano defended Rep. Patrick Kennedy for his criticism of the Catholic Church. Viser also noted that the three male candidates continue to spar most aggressively with each other rather than with Coakley.

“As has been the case in most every forum to date, the attorney general mostly stayed above the fray.”

The blog Left Bank of the Charles analyzed the latest Globe poll on the election. The message: It’s not in the bag for Coakley just yet. “Once the huge undecided vote is properly factored in, it is clear the race is still wide open.”

On The Cape

Pagliuca sat down with the editorial board of the Cape Cod Times. Their interview focused, naturally, on the Cape Wind Project, which the candidate said he supports. The obligatory Celtics talk was also made more interesting with the question: Which is more likely — a Celtics championship in 2010 or a Pagliuca win?
