More On How Khazei Hopes To Pull It Off

Khazei is counting on communities such as Newton, Needham, Arlington and Brookline.

The campaign knows it needs to turn out older voters, women, high-income voters and highly educated voters.

The model is based on a turnout of 12 to 15 percent turnout — this was the turnout for the special primary election in the 5th Congressional District in 2007.

Because the turnout is expected to be so low, the campaign is able to reach out to a high percentage of the potential electorate (that is, a high percentage of the folks it expects to actually show up at the polls).

This program aired on December 8, 2009. The audio for this program is not available.
