WBURSenate Candidates Square Off In First Debate

BOSTON — The three candidates vying for the U.S. Senate seat are debating for the first time.

Attorney General Martha Coakley, state Sen. Scott Brown and technology executive Joseph Kennedy will face off Monday night at 8 p.m. on WBZ Radio.

Tufts University political science professor Jeffrey Berry said one of the big challenges is competing with the holidays.

“There is a real challenge to get voters out there and I think that’s really going to depend on organization and not the debates,” Berry said, “and the organizational advantage certainly goes to Martha Coakley.”

Berry says Kennedy is going to focus on raising his stature as a smart candidate who can affect change, while Brown will try to build up support from the Republican base.

To the good citizens of Massachusetts. This is an incredibly important and historic vote. Please send Scott Brown to DC to deprive the democrats of the 60th vote in the Senate they need to pass health care, cap and tax and now amnesty for illegal aliens. This will send a message to these fools that continue to destroy our economy and shed jobs.

Massachusetts stood tall in the Revolutionary War and fought for our Constitution and personal liberty. Our Nation is calling on you once again to do the right thing. Vote for Scott Brown and send a message to DC that they will understand.

Vote for Scott Brown as if your life depended on it, because it might.

The quality of my health care and my life expectency will decrease if Scott doesn’t help kill the health care bill. This and Cap & Trade will also kill jobs and raise taxes and our deficit. Martha thinks public option is fine but as senator she would be exempt, but it’s ok for me and you. Scott is against it because it’s bad for his constituents.
