“Radical” means “of the root”. It doesn’t mean “new”. The implication of “radical” is that inessentials have been stripped away.

If this production is “radical”, it’s because there’s no script, in the sense of an explicit set of directions about who says what to whom, and when. Stripping away the script as a prerequisite for theater is a radical act.
