When are we going to start treating lung cancer as "lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States"? With such a high mortality rate, people need to change their thinking that people who have lung cancer "deserve" it. Yes, many people who get lung cancer are or have been smokers, but many are not (such as my amazing mother who died of this terrible disease two years ago). Even for those who are/have been, nobody deserves this disease. As "the leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States", we need to start seeing/doing more support of this disease...as much or more than other cancers! Nobody deserves this disease and it is about time we started acting like that.
