In Ellen Feingold’s interview with Meghna Chakrabarti on Friday, June 25, I heard once more the excitement of the whirlwind it was to work in the past as her JCHE colleague. Feingold’s daily efforts to offer low-income elderly men and women with independent living call on her dogged commitment to social justice and her leadership. Among
her talents of huge scale: knowing how to develop buildings that last and that feel like home to those who live there, understanding how to create environments full of the opportunities people need to get the most out of their lives, and the energy to initiate and support efforts all over the country to make elderly housing a priority and a reality. All that sounded so easy in her interview!
Jack,
You were 3-for-3 with the critical comments for Friday’s show. Impressive. I’m grateful for your dedication as a passionate listener. However, I take the fact that you listened to the entire hour as a compliment.
Since you’ve shared what you dislike, I invite you to also share what kind of radio you *do* like. What do you think would make for a compelling Radio Boston segment? What Massachusetts stories, people, issues would keep you at the radio – just as Friday’s Radio Boston seemed to do – but give you insight and knowledge that you value and enjoy?
You’re clearly a close listener and a critical thinker – I’d appreciate hearing more of your ideas.
Dreadful radio. Better spend this time with silence. I don’t doubt Ellen Feingold is a wonderful person, just that the interviewer lacked any ability to allow Ms. Feingold to be interesting.
Ugh.
