Chelsea is getting $2 million in federal stimulus money to reduce pollution from diesel exhaust.

The Environmental Protection Agency is awarding the grants to the Chelsea Collaborative on Wednesday. The largest portion will go the New England Produce Market, one of the nation's largest produce distribution centers, to reduce diesel emissions from idling trucks.

A second grant will go to retrofitting and upgrading diesel-burning vehicles owned by the city, as well as any willing businesses.
