Police Search For Hit-And-Run Suspect

Boston police are still looking for information related to a hit-and-run over the weekend that left a six-year-old girl in serious condition at Children's Hospital Boston.

The girl was crossing a street in Allston with her parents on Saturday night when she was hit by a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The child, whose identity has not been released, suffered a broken neck.

Boston police officer Eddy Chrispin said he hopes that the person responsible for hitting the child will turn themselves in, "and on the other hand, also, to members of the public who may have also seen the car, or may know of the whereabouts of the car, to contact Boston Police Department."

Police say the Jeep Cherokee likely has front-end damage.

Police are asking anyone with information to call (617) 343-4256. Individuals wishing to provide information anonymously may do so by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line at 1-800-494-TIPS or texting "TIP" to CRIME (27463).

This program aired on January 10, 2011. The audio for this program is not available.
