Sen. Brown To Talk Jobs With Mass. Residents

Sen. Scott Brown plans to travel the state this month to talk jobs with Massachusetts residents and businesses.

Brown says he will discuss his plans to create jobs in the state and answer residents' questions. The state's unemployment rate was 7.6 percent in June.

The tour includes nine stops, including talks in Boston, Pittsfield and Cape Cod. Some meetings will focus on specific issues, such as tourism, veterans' jobs and small business.

Brown plans to make his first appearances Friday at the annual meeting of the Beer Institute in Boston at 10 a.m. and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Jamaica Plain at 1:30 p.m.

Democrats have criticized Brown for not holding any public town hall meetings in Massachusetts since he was elected in 2010.
