It's been a rough couple of weeks on Capitol Hill but Sen. Scott Brown is still thankful for the work he has been able to do for the state of Massachusetts. Brown joined WBUR's Morning Edition as he was headed out in his now-famous pickup truck to get started on his holiday plans.

"I'm thankful that I'm American and we are Americans. We live in the greatest country in the world and even though we do have some ups and downs we have more to be thankful for, I think, than most throughout the world," Brown said. "And for me, Thanksgiving is about the idea of coming together and looking back over the past year... And just, you know, continuing to work hard and having the oppurtunity to share our good fortune."

This program aired on November 24, 2011.
