WBUR4 Charged In Fake MBTA Pass Scheme

BOSTON — Four Massachusetts residents accused of selling fake T passes will be arraigned Monday.

Conspiracy charges have been filed against Andres Townes of Revere, Alex Saunders of Beverly, Joceline Townes of Attleboro and Susan Gillis of Foxborough. All suspects except Townes also are charged with receiving stolen property.

The four allegedly created counterfeit passes by using equipment from an MBTA subcontractor, and selling them at discounted rates in person or online.

Prosecutors say the four sold more than $70,000 worth of passes.
