WBURUMass President Worries About ‘Simplistic Answer’ To Rising Tuition

BOSTON — College and university officials in Boston and around the nation will be closely watching as President Obama unveils his new federal budget proposal Monday, and is expected to address the issue of ever-rising college tuition.

The president has been pushing a plan to steer federal funding toward schools that work to limit tuition increases and could call for imposing tuition caps.

Robert Caret, the president of the University of Massachusetts system, joined WBUR Monday morning to discuss Obama’s proposal and rising tuition.

actually it really is a very easy fix to the rising tuition mess. the fed gov needs to stop subsdiizing the colleges large tuitions, large non teaching positions and admin and million dollar salary for the president of the college, and deans, and asst deans and asst to asst deans, and the football coaches et al. the gov taxes us in middle class and loans our money back to us to borrow to pay for all this nonsense at colleges. why does the president of umass make more than the president of the usa? how is that possible how is that justifiable. Cut all these salarires in half, asap
