AM Briefing: Marathon Heat; 'Buffett Rule' Fails

-- Kudos to all the runners who finished the Boston Marathon in the sweltering heat yesterday. The BAA says some 2,500 people sought medical treatment along the route, and 152 were taken to hospitals. Kenyans Wesley Korir and Sharon Cherop won the men's and women's races, respectively. -- The "Buffett rule," which would have established a minimum tax rate on those earning more than $1 million a year, failed in the Senate last night. It was a party-line vote, with Sen. John Kerry voting to advance the legislation and Sen. Scott Brown voting against the bill.
