4 Stabbed In Downtown Boston

Police are searching for suspects after a fight connected to a murder trial in downtown Boston ended with the stabbing of four people Wednesday afternoon.

One remains in critical condition.

Details are sketchy, but what police do know is that four people are hospitalized with stab wounds.

The four men were stabbed after leaving Suffolk Superior Court in a bloody melee that authorities now believe is linked to a murder case underway in the Suffolk Superior courthouse.

Three of the victims were found near 1 Beacon St. across from the Omni Parker House Hotel.

The fourth victim was found with life-threatening injuries on Massachusetts Avenue, about two miles from the original scene. A friend drove him to the hospital.

Boston Police Superintendent Bruce Holloway said investigators have talked to a lot of witnesses but made no arrests.

"It's gonna be crazy, because so many people were involved, so there's really no leads other than that we know the parties were known to each other," Holloway said. "And we know that there were more people there than just the four that were stabbed, lets put it that way."

Holloway said it was a big fight, but he would not say just how many people were involved.

The scene was roped off as police investigated the stabbings. Lanes of traffic on Tremont Street near the Omni Parker House Hotel and on Massachusetts Avenue were blocked off, worsening traffic during an always-hectic rush hour on both streets.

There's no word yet on the exact relationship of the knife fight to the murder case.

The Suffolk District Attorney's office said the victims “are known to one another and that at least some of those individuals had a connection to a case in Suffolk Superior Court.”

Jury selection was under way in the trial stemming from the 2010 shooting in Dorchester that killed a 24-year-old woman and injured a 19-year-old man.

The men accused in that crime — Kadeem Foreman and Terrell Rainey — are on trial for murder and assault. The district attorney said jury selection will continue Thursday.
