Rep. Tierney To Speak On Illegal Gambling Accusations
BOSTON — Democratic U.S. Rep. John Tierney will hold a news conference Thursday to rebut allegations made by his brothers-in-law over an offshore gambling operation.
Daniel and Robert Eremian say Tierney is lying when he denies having any knowledge of the operation.
Daniel was sentenced to three years in a federal prison for his role in the scheme. Robert, who is wanted on multiple gambling charges, is a fugitive living in the Caribbean.
WBUR’s political analyst, Democrat Dan Payne, joined WBUR’s Morning Edition to discuss what this means for Tierney, who is in a race for his seat against Republican Richard Tisei.
