Brown Weighs In On Pot, Suicide Questions

Republican U.S. Sen. Scott Brown is weighing in on two ballot questions set to go before Massachusetts voters in November.

Brown said he's opposed to a question that would legalize the medical use of marijuana.

Brown said he sympathizes with people who are suffering but said the proposed law is too broad. The measure calls for the state to register up to 35 nonprofit medical treatment centers to distribute the marijuana.

Brown made the comments Friday on WTKK-FM.

Brown said he hasn't made up his mind on another question that would allow terminally ill adults to self-administer a life-ending drug.

Brown said it was a difficult issue and there are people of good will on both sides of the issue. He said he wants to learn more before making a decision.
