2nd Armed Robbery Reported Near BU

A second armed robbery has been reported near Boston University campus in three days.

Boston University Police say three black males allegedly robbed three male BU students at gunpoint at Egmont and St. Paul Streets around 5 p.m. Tuesday. The victims described the suspects as between 16 and 20 years old and wearing sweatshirts or jackets.

A witness later reported that he observed three black males taking off sweatshirts and stuffing them in backpacks near Pleasant Street and Dummer Street before continuing toward Commonwealth Avenue, according to the Brookline Police Department blog.

The incident Tuesday took place about eight blocks from the corner of Thorndike Street and Hamilton Road, where two students were robbed early Sunday morning. There were no injuries in either incident.

Peter Fiedler, vice president for administrative services, says that BU police will immediately add three more patrols to the area of both crimes, and that Brookline is expected to add patrols as well.
