DA: Brother Shot Dead In Apparent Accident

Massachusetts authorities say a newly licensed man has fatally shot his teenage brother in what the family is calling an accident.

Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey says that 17-year-old high school senior Dave Wade died after the Saturday afternoon shooting in his family's Stoughton home.

Morrissey says Wade's 21-year-old brother had gotten his gun license within the past couple of weeks.

He says Wade's brother and mother called 911 and tried to help the teen before emergency responders arrived.

Neighbor Chet Collins tells the Boston Herald that the family is close-knit and loving and that the teen was one of four sons.

Authorities say the family is devastated and cooperating with police.

Investigators are trying to figure out what led up to the shooting.
