Speaker Boehner Attends Mass. Fundraiser For GOP's Tisei

House Majority Leader John Boehner has attended a Boston fundraiser for Republican Congressional candidate Richard Tisei.

The event took place Tuesday morning at the Harvard Downtown Club.

Tisei, a former state legislator and lieutenant governor candidate, is running a close race with Democratic incumbent Rep. John Tierney in the 6th Congressional District.

A spokeswoman for Tisei said she didn't have any information about how much was raised or how many people attended.

An invitation to the event advertised "Breakfast with Speaker Boehner" at $1,000 a person and a "Private Briefing with Speaker Boehner" at $2,500 per person.

Democrats said the fundraiser demonstrates the close ties between Tisei and the conservative Republican leadership in the U.S. House.

Tisei said he doesn't always agree with Boehner, but is glad to have his support.
