Police responded shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday to the apartment near Joy and Myrtle streets. The woman told officers that a man armed with an unknown weapon forced his way into her apartment, robbed her and sexually assaulted her.

No arrests have been made. Police scheduled a news conference for Sunday afternoon.

The woman described the suspect as a black man in his late 20s or early 30s. She said his hair was braided and he was wearing a doo-rag type hat, a tan-colored construction jacket and dark jeans.
