Bulger, Weeks Trade Expletives In Courtroom

BOSTON — After an explosive day in federal court, jurors in the trial of Boston mobster James “Whitey” Bulger on Wednesday will hear from a forensic expert who identified the remains of some of Bulger’s alleged murder victims.

The fireworks in court Tuesday came between Bulger and former protege Kevin Weeks, who was testifying on behalf of the prosecution. U.S. Marshals and security officers had to spring into the middle of the expletive-filled exchange.

WBUR’s David Boeri was in the courtroom.

Today’s reporting by wannabe thespian David Boeri was so far over the top that I finally made the mid-drive switch to one of the other fine NPR outlets here in the Greater Boston area. I find it entirely unnecessary, often comic, and always ridiculous that Boeri’s reporting requires theatrical pauses and impersonations of various witnesses.

Save the dramatic interpretations for the movie.

And seriously, Boeri’s performance is just one more example of how WBUR reporters cannot seem to remove themselves from the reporting. Listen folks, I want to hear the news…I DO NOT want to know what YOU think (or even worse, feel) about it. Get over yourselves. Some of us just aren’t so impressed.
