A third Democrat has officially jumped into the race to replace Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. State Sen. Dan Wolf formally announced his candidacy Wednesday in a statement and video on his campaign website.

Wolf, a two-term state senator from Harwich, now joins Newton pediatrician Donald Berwick, and Joseph Avellone, a life sciences company executive from Wellesley, in competition for the Democratic Party's nomination. State Treasurer Steve Grossman plans to announce his bid at the party's convention on Saturday.

Sen. Wolf joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss his campaign.

This program aired on July 11, 2013.
