MBTA Launches Safety Campaign With Rap Video

BOSTON — As Boston students head back to school, the MBTA is asking them to “stay alert and let safety flow.”

That’s one line of the catchy hip-hop song and video the T produced to encourage children who use the system to get to school to be safe and courteous. The song — dubbed “The Safety Bounce” — asks riders to stay behind the yellow line, hold onto escalator railings, not hog seats and keep their hands off drivers.

The video features riders, T staff and even the transit system’s mascot Charlie — who’s got some pretty sweet moves — doing the “bounce.”

T officials say the video, which is a part of a larger safety campaign, was fully funded by one of their advertising contractors, Titan.
