MBTA Launches Safety Campaign With Rap Video

As Boston students head back to school, the MBTA is asking them to "stay alert and let safety flow."

That's one line of the catchy hip-hop song and video the T produced to encourage children who use the system to get to school to be safe and courteous. The song — dubbed "The Safety Bounce" — asks riders to stay behind the yellow line, hold onto escalator railings, not hog seats and keep their hands off drivers.

The video features riders, T staff and even the transit system’s mascot Charlie — who's got some pretty sweet moves — doing the “bounce.”

T officials say the video, which is a part of a larger safety campaign, was fully funded by one of their advertising contractors, Titan.

This program aired on September 4, 2013. The audio for this program is not available.
