Three weeks before Election Day, the Boston mayoral candidates debate one-on-one for the first time Tuesday night.

It's the first of three televised debates between state Rep. Marty Walsh and Boston City Councilor John Connolly before the Nov. 5 election.

Paul Wantanabe, professor of political science at UMass Boston, joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss the state of the race.

This program aired on October 15, 2013.
