Prosecutors Ease Prison Restrictions On Tsarnaev

Federal prosecutors have eased limitations on visits to Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev by his defense team.

In court documents filed Tuesday, prosecutors said the restrictions have been modified to allow several people to disseminate Tsarnaev's communications to third parties for the purpose of preparing his defense. Those people include a paralegal, a mental health consultant and a mitigation specialist who will help the defense prepare arguments against the death penalty.

The mental health consultant and the mitigation specialist will be allowed to meet with Tsarnaev without a lawyer accompanying them.

Tsarnaev's defense team had complained that the "special administrative measures" imposed on Tsarnaev impaired their ability to defend him.

Tsarnaev has pleaded not guilty in the April 15 bombing, which killed three people and injured more than 260.
