Forecast: Chilly Thursday Gives Way To Slightly Warmer Weekend

We won't see much if any sunshine today, as a weak weather system keeps it cloudy.

If you are returning presents to the malls, there will a few snow showers in the air this morning, but little or no accumulation is expected. Sunshine is going to return for Friday and the weekend with a warming trend.

By Saturday, most of us are going to enjoy temperatures in the lower to middle 40s. Sunday you will notice an increase in clouds, but any rain should hold off until later in the day or early evening.

A storm will just brush by to our south late in the weekend and is the reason for the clouds on Sunday.

The last couple of days of the year will continue the dry trend. The one notable difference will be a shot of arctic air arriving for New Year's Eve. Temperatures for First Night festivities will be in the teens and with a bit of a wind, it's going to be "bundle up time" as we ring in 2014.

Today: Cloudy, with a high near 35. There will be a few periods of snow showers except rain and snow on the Cape. Little or no snow accumulation.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 17-25.

Friday: Sunny, with a highs in the middle 30s. It will be blustery.

Saturday: A blend of clouds and sunshine highs in the lower 40s.

Sunday: Partly sunny in the morning, thickening clouds with a risk of afternoon showers. Highs 40-45.
