BOSTON — A Boston man arrested following a fatal shooting during a home invasion in the city’s Dorchester section has pleaded not guilty to weapons charges.
Eighteen-year-old Cedrick Slayden was ordered held on $50,000 bail at his arraignment Thursday.
Slayden was arrested on Wednesday near the scene of the fatality. Police say he was carrying a handgun.
Authorities say two masked men tried to force their way into an apartment on Wednesday morning, but the resident opened fire, killing one of them.
The shooting remains under investigation and no other names have been released.
The apartment resident has not been charged with a crime.
