Former Springfield College Employee Faces Child Porn Charges

A Granby man who worked in the Springfield College information technology department has been indicted on charges of producing, possessing and distributing thousands of images and videos of child sexual abuse.

The state attorney general's office announced Thursday that 38-year-old David Linnehan has been indicted by a statewide grand jury.

He will be arraigned in Superior Court at a later date.

Authorities say Linnehan is responsible for the creation of child pornography by encouraging a mother to take and send him nude pictures of her young daughter.

He is also charged with illegally accessing Springfield College students' computers and email accounts to steal personal and private photographs. He has been fired.

He also allegedly had an unlicensed 9 mm handgun in his home.

Linnehan's attorney refused comment on the case.
