Forecast: Sunny And Seasonable Week Expected

Sunshine is in the forecast the next four days. The weather through Friday will be one of the nicest--if not the nicest--stretches of spring sunshine and seasonable temperatures this year.

Highs the next few days will be warmest inland reaching the 50s. Along the coastline, afternoon sea breezes will knock readings back a few degrees as the ocean is still very cold. As the air comes in off the ocean, readings at Logan Airport may fall back as much as 10 degrees from earlier highs. I recommend keeping a warm sweater or jacket handy the next several days if you are going to be outside along the water or close.

Later Friday evening and Saturday a weather system approaches from the west and brings a chance for showers to the region. I am not expecting a weekend washout as by Sunday sunshine and seasonable temperatures return.

The Red Sox home opener is Friday and I will be watching the progress of the showers for then. If the weather system predicted to bring the showers moves slowly the rain will hold off until after the game is over. However, the system could speed up a few hours and bring showers into Boston by mid or late afternoon. I’ll have more details on opening day weather tomorrow.

Tuesday: Generally sunny and seasonable. Highs in the mid 40s.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear with a low around 32.

Wednesday: More sunshine. Mild with highs in the lower to mid 50s. Cooler on Cape Cod.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and pleasant. Highs in the 50s (40s along east-facing beaches).

Friday: Sunshine followed by increasing clouds. Late day or nighttime showers. Highs in the 40s to low 50s.

Saturday: Rain, especially in the morning, with slow clearing later. Highs in the upper 40s.
