Forecast: Sunshine On Tap For Thursday

After a cold start, temperatures will recover nicely today with the strong April sunshine. You can expect highs to reach the upper 50s to near 60 with nearly 100 percent of the possible sunshine. Winds are going to increase this afternoon making it feel a bit cooler but overall it looks like a very nice day.

Clouds are going to increase overnight but with the clouds and winds coming from a warm direction temperatures will not fall nearly as far. Lows tomorrow morning will stay just above 40 in most places.

As a front nears southern New England Friday there may be a few showers. It won’t be a washout, but there will be a lot of clouds. It will continue to be on the mild side.

The front will stall to our south on Friday night and Saturday allowing a second area of rain to develop near the south coast and then push as far north as Boston and the Massachusetts Turnpike early Saturday. This last push of rain from this system, if it did move north, would clear the area by mid-morning. The rain could very well stay over the outer part of Cape Cod and not reach very far north. I’ll have an update on this tomorrow.

The second part of Saturday features clearing skies and mild air. Sunday is a great day with plenty of sunshine and typically mild April readings.

Thursday: Sunny with light morning winds becoming gusty this afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s.

Thursday night: Clouds increase. Still breezy and mild. Lows in the 40s.

Friday: A few scattered showers, but much of the day is dry. Clouds dominate with a few breaks of sunshine. Highs in the lower 60s.

Saturday: Early showers possible over Cape Cod and the Islands. Otherwise partly sunny and mild. Highs in the lower 60s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high of 61 to 65.
