At Heartbreak Hill, The Cheering Never Stopped

At Mile 20 of the Boston Marathon is the last and most famous of the course's four hills in Newton: Heartbreak Hill. Though it's just a modest 88-foot incline over a quarter-mile, Heartbreak Hill can sap the strength of even the strongest runner. But in the running of this year's race, the hill seemed to help mend memories of last year's.
