Boston Teen Arraigned In Brother's Death
A 14-year-old Boston boy charged with fatally shooting his 9-year-old brother has been held on $50,000 bail.
Juanly Pena pleaded not guilty on Monday to charges of manslaughter and unlawful possession of a firearm.
Pena was indicted earlier this month as a youthful offender in connection with the February death of his brother Janmarcos, in their Dorchester home, making his name public.
Authorities say the accidental shooting occurred late on a weekday morning when both boys should have been at school. Their mother was outside warming up the family van at the time.
Juanly Pena is charged as a youthful offender in juvenile court, opening his case to the public.
His lawyer says he is scared and has the support of his mother.
