Forecast: Warm Temperatures Expected This Weekend

Those pesky showers are still technically in the forecast today, but most of us stay dry. I can finally take out the word “shower” for tomorrow and Thursday. That pair of days are my picks of the week with abundant sunshine and seasonable temperatures.

Clouds and showers return for Friday and the start of the weekend. These showers are the forerunner of warmer air which will bring some of the warmest days and nights we have seen in a while. Temperatures will stay in the 50s overnight during the weekend which will help to further green the landscape.

Saturday will feature a lot of clouds and scattered showers, but Mother’s Day is looking very nice. Even if there are clouds and a few showers to start the day in northern areas, sunshine will be increasing and with highs in the 70s it will be a wonderful day to take a stroll with Mom.

Next week starts mild, but may turn a bit cooler. More on this evolving pattern later in the week.

Tuesday: A mostly sunny day but a few clouds could still yield a brief shower. Highs in the lower 60s.

Tuesday night: Mostly clear and chilly with lows of 36 to 44 and a northwest wind of 9 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny with light winds and highs in the mid 60s. Cooler on the Cape.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 60 to 65 but in the 50s on the south-facing beaches.

Friday: Mostly cloudy and mild with scattered showers possible but generally dry. Highs near 60.

Saturday: Cloudy and mild with scattered showers. Highs in the upper 60s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and pleasant with a high of 70 to 75.
