Forecast: Increased Humidity, Chance Of Showers Ahead

There won’t be much in the way of sunshine the next two days and Father’s Day is looking great. Those predictions are part of the weather headlines for this morning along with the fact that Saturday morning is still a bit questionable.

Humidity is back up a bit this morning and will continue to increase the next 24 hours.   Along with the humidity will come the chance for rounds of showers and thunderstorms.  Most of the day will be dry today and even tomorrow won’t be a complete washout. The best chance of rain is overnight tonight and the first part of Friday. Additionally, there is another good chance of rain late Friday evening as a cold front pushes through.

The key to the weekend forecast is this front. If the front keeps on chugging along, Saturday will turn out quite nice with a good afternoon and plenty of sunshine. If the cold front doesn’t move quickly enough, it could take a few more hours to clear Saturday and the first half of the day might end up cloudy with even a few morning showers.

Whatever happens Saturday, Sunday is looking like a superb day with an abundance of sunshine and warm readings around 80 or even a bit higher inland. On Cape Cod you can knock at least 5 degrees off those temperatures. The nice weather looks to continue into Monday before the chance of more rain resumes later Tuesday or Wednesday.

Thursday: Cloudy and somewhat muggy. Chance of a quick shower but mostly dry. Highs in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

Thursday night: More clouds and a bit breezy this evening with a few overnight showers. Lows in the lower 60s.

Friday: A period of morning showers then cloudy with afternoon showers and storms. Highs in the mid 70s.

Friday night: A few more showers and storms. Some of these could contain heavy downpours. Lows in the mid 60s.

Saturday: Any lingering showers move out to sea in the morning, and there will be increasing sunshine thereafter for the afternoon. Highs in the 70s.

Sunday: Sunny with a high of 75 to 80.

Monday: Mostly sunny and pleasant. Highs around 80 but warmer inland.
