Forecast: Beach Day With Temperatures Well Into 80s

A batch of showers over Connecticut this morning is pushing out to the southern region. The clouds from this system will be with us the first part of the day meaning it will look rather threatening at times, but we won’t see any rain. That said, there could be a quick shower over the south coast and over Nantucket as the showers move east.

Sunshine will return from north to south during the day and is going to continue to dominate our weather through the weekend. This afternoon will be dry in terms of humidity levels, but quite warm. Many areas will reach well into the 80s, but without the humidity it’s going to be a good beach day.

The sun is at its strongest levels of the entire year this week so be vigilant about applying sunscreen as it will be easy to burn this afternoon.

High pressure from Canada remains in control of our weather into the weekend bringing more clear skies and comfortably mild to warm air.

Lows at night will reach into the 50s for ideal sleeping weather and highs in the afternoon will be mostly in the 70s to near 80. If you are headed to the beach this weekend, it won’t be super hot, but still sunny.

Tides will be high early in the morning this weekend and low around or just after lunch time.  The sun will set at 8:25 p.m. and be up just after 5 a.m. all weekend. Remember, Saturday brings the longest daylight of the year so make the most of it!

Thursday: Morning clouds then becoming mostly sunny. Highs 80 to 85.

Thursday night: Mostly clear and cool. Lows 51 to 59.

Friday: Sunny with a high in the mid to upper 70s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with highs between 73 to 78.

Sunday: Sunny with a high in the mid 70s.

Monday: Partly sunny with a high near 75.
