Prosecutors Don't Oppose Hernandez Jail Transfer

Prosecutors say they do not oppose a request from former Patriots player Aaron Hernandez to move him to a jail closer to his Boston attorneys.

But they are firing back at claims made by Hernandez's attorneys. In their written transfer request, Hernandez's lawyers accused the jail administrator of violating Hernandez's privacy and due process rights.

Hernandez is in a jail in Bristol County in southern Massachusetts, where he is charged in the 2013 shooting of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. His lawyers want him moved to a jail closer to Boston, where Hernandez is charged in the 2012 killings of two men. He has pleaded not guilty.

Bristol prosecutors called the defense claims "baseless, theatrical, and legally unsupportable." They said they don't oppose Hernandez's "wholly reasonable" request to be closer to his lawyers.
