Forecast: Two Warm Days Left Before Rainy, Colder Conditions Arise

It’s going to be important to enjoy today and tomorrow. These next two days are going to be the mildest ones we have for the next seven days, and some of what’s coming looks pretty raw, damp and rather uninviting.

After skies clear from Thursday night's rain, the air will be breezy and warm again Friday. While we won’t have the humidity of the past few days Friday, it will be in the lower 70s this afternoon, which is above the average temperature for the season. Daylight continues shrink, with the sun now setting before 6 p.m. for the first time since early March. We will have to wait another four and a half months to see the light this late again.

Sunshine continues Saturday, and temperatures will remain warm. There could be a quick shower with the passage of a cold front later in the day. Highs reach the 70 mark again, but that might be it for a while, or perhaps even the year. It’s tough to know if the temperatures will get this warm again during the season.

I can guarantee a much colder pattern sets in for Sunday and Monday with highs in the lower 50s and nights in the 30s. If you haven’t had the heat on yet, you likely will late this weekend and early next week.

Clouds, showers and raw conditions return later Tuesday and may last for several days as low pressure moves up the coast. The chance of showers is going to be in the forecast Tuesday through Thursday. It remains to be seen how much rain we get, but the days of warmth and sunshine are numbered, so enjoy them!

Friday: Today Partly sunny and breezy. Highs in the lower 70s.

Friday night: Partly cloudy with lows in the lower 50s.

Saturday: A blend of clouds and sunshine. Highs around 70F. Chance of a quick afternoon shower.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and significantly colder. Highs in the low 50s.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.

Tuesday: Turning cloudy, raw with a chance of showers. Highs in the mid 50s.
