Forecast: Chilly Today, But The Weekend's Heating Up

It’s been a while since we enjoyed a few days in a row of 70 degrees or warmer air. While today is going to be far from those readings, we won’t have to wait very long to feel a true taste of spring. A storm system to our south and a cool pool of air to the north will continue to provide the region with a northeasterly flow of moist and chilly ocean air today.

I don’t see much in the way of rainfall at all, and while there could be a shower or two, the trend will be for the showers to be confined south of Boston. Across northern sections of the area some sunshine could mix with the clouds, especially during the afternoon.

The evening commute will be generally dry and weather shouldn’t be a factor. There could even be some solar glare in places where the clouds break.

The weekend brings a warming trend, but it’s really Sunday that’s the warmer day. Saturday will be milder, but along the coast a cooling sea breeze will hold the air at around 60 degrees. But, temperatures might even fall into the 50s in the afternoon.

Sunday will be milder, even along the coast. I expect inland areas to reach the 70-degree mark or even higher. It gets even warmer by Monday, with temperatures across the state in the mid 70s. The next chance of showers comes Tuesday as a frontal system passes the region.

Enjoy the weekend and the warming trend!
